Farm Building Conversion, Winscombe

pad has received planning consent for the conversion of existing farm and outbuildings in Winscombe, in order to create a sustainable live/work unit – a family home with integrated office space as well as a triple garage, utility, open plan dining, kitchen and family space, open plan living space, a small snug, gym, five bedrooms and 4 WCs/bathrooms/en-suites. There is also a garden room and greenhouse for outdoor dining, within the west facing kitchen garden area. While the proposal requires some infill development to connect and make effective and efficient use of the existing buildings, the design aims to retain the appearance of a group of separate outbuildings, achieved through variations in roof structures and elevational treatments. A small courtyard will be formed within the south facing facade, which increases the amount of natural light into the building, without creating the need for a large number of openings facing onto the PRoW. Construction is currently underway.
