Urban Extension, St Edeyrn’s

pad Design provided masterplanning services towards an outline planning application for development of a strategic Greenfield site on the edge of Cardiff. This included production of an illustrative Concept Masterplan, a set of parameter plans and a comprehensive Design and Access Statement. The site offers an opportunity to provide a high quality extension to Cardiff, delivering the majority of St Edeyrn’s Village – a sustainable new neighbourhood of around 1200 new homes. St Edeyrn’s Village will be focused around an attractive centre to integrate with the existing medieval church and historic public house, providing a recognisable heart to the development with new community facilities, including a primary school. The village will provide a healthy environment with a variety of green spaces including a major new public space for Cardiff in the form of a riverside park. This will deliver an extension to the Rhymney River Trail, encouraging access and enjoyment of the river corridor and accommodating a range of leisure uses.
