Priory Gardens
Bath, Somerset
Full Application / Working Drawings
A one-off new home designed and built using passive house principles and materials, which was featured on the cover of December 2017’s Self Build & Design magazine. The proposals sensitively considered the neighbouring properties and maximised views across the city.
The ground floor, clad in natural random rubble stone walls which seem to grow organically out of the hill, is stepped back into the hillside to maximise the garden space; while the timber-clad first floor moves forward to maintain an agreed stand-off to the adjoining property – a feature which also provides solar shading for the south west facing patio doors.
